JOB OPENING:

Finance Specialist

DEPARTMENT:
The finance department is responsible for managing all organization expenses, processing offline revenue, preparing and producing financial reports and implementing financial controls. The department takes the lead on ensuring IRC is compliant with all CRA regulations.

JOB PURPOSE:

This position will work under the finance manager and is responsible for inputting and processing donations.

Status: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Burlington/Flexibility to work remotely

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform weekly cash/cheque deposits; inputting them into the donations management system and depositing at the bank
  • Assist with inputting of pledges/donations into donations management system
  • Assist in revenue reconciliations
  • Receive, organize and review collections received from the fundraising department
  • Respond to revenue related inquiries from donors and other departments
  • Assistance with other ad hoc projects may be required

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

Experience:

  • Experience with data inputting
  • Experience working with data management systems an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Meticulous/pays attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, be well-organized and be able to work well in a team environment
  • Must be proficient with MS Office
  • Proficiency with CRM software is an asset
  • Eligible to work in Canada
