Islamic Relief Canada to host International Women’s Day event in Toronto
Islamic Relief Canada is hosting an event titled “What’s Her Problem? Women Who Dare To Be Powerful” on this coming Thursday, March 7, 2019. This event is tied to International Women’s Day and is part of the charity’s firm commitment to empowering and celebrating women in its work in Canada and around the world.
The event will begin at 6:30 PM at the Love Child Social House (69 Bathurst Street, Toronto, ON, M5V 2P6). The panelists are Dena Takruri (journalist and senior presenter, AJ+), Fatimah Jackson-Best (PhD and public health researcher), Nadia Hasan (deputy director, NCCM) and Cristina Tenaglia (reporter, CP24).
The event will also be the official launch of Islamic Relief Canada’s latest research report, titled Dishonourable Violence: Changing the Narratives on Honour and Shame Among Muslim Canadian Communities.
