What are Regional teams?

Regional Teams are core volunteers in a particular city or region who engage their communities through outreach, awareness and fundraising events. The teams meet regularly, plan and execute events as well as participate in community engagement and networking opportunities. As a member of a regional team, you are more than just an occasional volunteer. You are a trusted member of the IRC family and are responsible for key tasks.

Regional team activities:

  • Grow IRC presence in their cities through executing and attending community engagement activities
  • Organize and participate in local initiatives (ie. winterization, emergency response, sandwich run, shoveling the driveway, treeplanting, hospital visits)
  • Fundraise by: hosting large events such as banquet hall dinners and through small scale events such as paint nights, sports tournaments, small restaurant-style dinners
  • Create an annual plan with the guidance of their IRC coordinator

Who you are:

  • You live in the same city as your team
  • You are able to commit to at least one year with your team, with no upper limit on your membership
  • You are able to attend regular meetings and events, with an average weekly commitment of 5-7 hours
  • You are looking to join a team of hard-working individuals
  • You are an initiative taker
  • You are energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about having a positive impact on the world around you
