Crisis Watch
Islamic Relief aims to be the first on the ground when a crisis hits, providing emergency relief and helping those affected immediately.
When floods, droughts or earthquakes happen, we are there. We aim to provide life-saving aid such as food, water, shelter, medicine and other essential items to families who have lost everything.
Donations towards our Emergency Response fund will help us to respond rapidly when disaster strikes, and help prepare communities for potential disasters. Donate now and help save lives.
“Whoever saves the life of one, it is as if he saved the whole of mankind” (Qur’an 5:32)
How We Respond to a Crisis
Monitoring
When crisis hits, our disaster response teams start by closely monitoring the situation to decide whether a response is needed. This sometimes involves sending a monitoring team to the affected area, as well as liaising with local communities and relevant authorities to see what role Islamic Relief can play in a response.
Response Planning
If a response is required, local Islamic Relief teams will put together a response plan which ensures we are coordinating efforts with other actors (e.g. local government and NGOs) to ensure we support affected communities in the most effective way possible
Responding
Once a response has been initiated, our teams work tirelessly to get humanitarian aid to communities in need thanks to your generous donations. Our responses are always tailored to the needs of the local communities in the context of the crisis.
Current Emergencies
Islamic Relief is monitoring all ongoing and incoming crises. We respond in specific countries, as indicated in red, where we have the capacity to do so.
Your donation to the Global Emergencies Fund is pooled together to fund our various emergency projects around the world. This ensures that funds can be distributed wherever they are most needed.
