One week. One ummah. United for orphans and children in need.

Charity Week returns October 19–25, 2026!

For more than 20 years, campuses and communities around the world have come together for one week of united fundraising for orphans and children in need.

Why unite? Because the challenges facing children around the world are too big and too complex for any one of us to solve alone. Together, we can change lives.

This October, we’re calling on students, schools, masjids and community groups across Canada to join the movement and become a changemaker.

This Year’s Theme: Waves of Unity

This year’s Charity Week theme, Waves of Unity, is inspired by the story of Prophet Yunus (AS) and the whale.

From the depths of the ocean, Prophet Yunus (AS) called out to Allah and was saved, a reminder that hope can reach even the darkest places. And when his people turned back to Allah together, they were spared. Their story shows what a community can achieve when it moves as one.

Every great wave is made of countless drops. A single fundraiser, volunteer or donation is one drop. Together, they become a wave of positive change for orphans and children in need around the world.

This October, let’s be the wave. Together, we can make #CW2026 our biggest one yet. May your efforts be met with countless blessings!

This year’s projects include:

Gaza, Palestine: Health & Dignity

Rebuilding healthcare and education for children and families, from a new school and a primary care clinic to hot meals and training Gaza’s next generation of doctors.

Sudan & South Sudan: Relieve & Rebuild

Food, clean water, shelter and livelihood support for families displaced by conflict and climate shocks.

Water: Oceans of Change

Clean water and safe sanitation for schools, refugee camps and remote communities across Africa and South Asia, plus life-saving rescue at sea.

Empowering Communities

Orphan sponsorship, school restoration, safe homes and livelihoods that lift families out of poverty for good.

History of Charity Week

Charity Week is a 100% volunteer-led campaign by Islamic Relief.

Raised last year€2 million+by changemakers around the world, for orphans and children in need
Volunteer-led100%a volunteer-led campaign by Islamic Relief

It began with a vision in 2000: that the world’s problems could be solved through unity, that we are stronger together than apart, and that real change begins when we change ourselves.

The first Charity Week started with just a shoebox and a handwritten poster at St George’s Medical School in South London. Since then, it has grown across the UK, Canada, Qatar, Germany, the USA, South Africa, Ireland and Malaysia.

Last year alone, changemakers around the world raised over €2 million for orphans and children in need. But the real success has never been the money. It’s the unity built through our shared effort, and the hope that it sparks lasting change for children everywhere.

Be part of the wave. Join #CW2026.
