ROHINGYA CAMP FIRES

A massive fire that broke out on Monday March 22 has damaged four camps in the Balukhali Refugee Camp that houses thousands of Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Over 88,000 people have tragically lost their homes and all they owned. Many are sleeping on the roadsides and in fields as they search for safety.

Islamic Relief is on the ground now assessing immediate needs and providing urgent humanitarian aid. Our teams have deployed additional support from the local field office in Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar.

Families are in desperate need of food support, Covid-19 hygiene supplies, sanitation facilities, and shelter.

Help provide urgent relief and save a life today.

Since the Crisis Began

In August 2017, 1 million Rohingya refugees abandoned their homes in Myanmar, fleeing escalated violence.

Since then, the emergency situation has worsened drastically, leaving hundreds of people dead or injured. With nowhere safe to go, parents and children desperately run for their lives, seeking refuge and life saving aid. This has resulted in a devastating and critical humanitarian emergency both in Myanmar and in neighbouring Bangladesh.

Islamic Relief Canada is on the ground delivering aid to refugees and those displaced by the crisis. Your donations are directly reaching families in need, providing food and essential items to restore life and dignity.

Your Impact

Because of your continued support, we have been working throughout Myanmar since 2008, delivering life-saving emergency aid, food and hygiene kits to those displaced by inter-communal violence. We’ve also rebuilt schools and provided healthcare through our innovative mobile clinics, which allows us to reach isolated communities.

Our efforts have reached over 852,000 people, but there are many more people desperately in need, especially with no end in sight to the crisis. You can make all the difference.

Just $100 can feed a family for a month.
