During the blessed days of Ramadan, we should increase our duas, prayers, and supplementary worship in hopes of them being multiplied.
Prepare for Ramadan with this list of 30 essential duas that you can regularly recite to increase your blessings and good deeds.
What are the duas of Ramadan?
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) once said: When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of heaven are opened (Bukhari). During this blessed month, Allah invites us to approach Him with sincerity and honesty, reminding us of His generosity and humility:
Verily, your Lord is Generous and Shy. If His servant raises his hands to Him (in supplication) He becomes shy to return them empty. (Tirmidhi)
May Allah (SWT) allow us to reach the month of Ramadan with the intention to seek His mercy, earn His pleasure, and attain His forgiveness through supplication and dua.
اَللّهُمَّ بَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَان
Allahumma ballighna Ramadan
O Allah! Let us reach the month of Ramadan
Dua when breaking fast in Ramadan (Iftar)
ذهب الظَّمأُ وابتلت العروق وثَبَتَ الأجرُ إن شاءَ الله
Zahaba azh-zhama’u, wa-btallatil ‘urooqu, wa thabata al-ajru in shaa’ Allah
The thirst has gone and the veins are quenched, and reward is confirmed, if Allah wills.
La soif est étanchée, les veines sont abreuvées et la rétribution est assurée, si Allah le veut.
Dua before keeping a fast in Ramadan (Suhoor)
بِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَوَيْتُ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَBisawmi ghadin nawaytu min shari ramadhaan.I intend to keep the fast tomorrow in the month of Ramadan.
Dua to extinguish anger
اللَّهُمَّ أَذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قَلْبِي
Oh Allah, remove anger from my heart.
Allahumma azhib Gaydha Qalbee.
Dua to ease your destiny
اللهم إن كان هذا الأمر خيرا لي فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ
Oh Allah, if my intended action is best for me, make it destined and easy for me, and grant me Your Blessings in it.
Allahumma in kaana haatha alAmr khayran lee fa iQ-dirhu lee wa yassirhu lee summa baarik lee feehi.
Dua for purifying the heart
اللهم طهر قلبي من كل سوء ، اللهم طهر قلبي من كل ما يبغضك، اللهم طهر قلبي من كل غلٍ وحقدٍ وحسد وكبر
Oh Allah, clean away all forms of evil from my heart. Oh Allah, clean my heart and remove everything that displeases you. Oh Allah, clean my heart of every form of bitterness, hard feelings, and jealousy.
Allahumma Tahhir Qalbee min kulli suu, Allahumma Tahhir Qalbee min kulli maa yubaGGiDuk. Allahumma Tahhir Qalbee min kulli Gillin wa HiQdin wa Hasadin wa kibr.
Dua for relief from anxiety
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْهَمِّ وَالْحُزْنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ
O Allah, I take refuge in you from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being overpowered by men.
Allahumma innee a3uzubika min alham wa alhuzn wa al3ajz wa alkusl wa albukhl wa aljubn wa galbah aldayn wa Galbah alrijaal.
Dua for relief from sadness
اللهمّ فارج الهم، كاشف الغم، مذهب الحزن، اكشف اللهمّ عنّي همّي وغمّي ، وأذهب عنّي حزني
Oh Allah, Reliever of anxiety, Remover of distress, Dispeller of grief! Remove my anxiety, distress, and dispel from me my sadness.
Allahumma Faarij alhamm, kaashif alGamm, muzhib alhuzn, ikshif Allahumma 3annee hammee wa Gammee, wa azhib 3annee huznee.
Dua to remove confusion from one’s heart
اللهمّ اجعل في قلبي نوراً، وفي لساني نوراً، واجعل في سمعي نوراً، واجعل في بصري نوراً، واجعل من خلفي نوراً، ومن أمامي نوراً، واجعل من فوقي نوراً، ومن تحتي نوراً، اللهمّ أعطني نوراًOh Allah! Place in my heart, light. Place in my tongue, light. Place in my hearing, light. Place in my sight, light. Place behind me, light. Place before me, light. Place above me, light. Place under me, light. Oh Allah grant me light!Allahumma Ij3al fee qalbee noora, wa fee lisaanee noora, wa ij3al fee sam3ee noora, wa ij3al fee baSaree noora, wa ij3al min khalfee noora, wa min amaamee noora, wa ij3al min fawqee nooraa, wa mmin tahtee noora, Allahumma a3Tinee noora.
Dua for protection from one’s nafs
اللهم إني أعوذ بك من شر سمعي، ومن شر بصري، ومن شر لساني، ومن شر قلبي، ومن شر منيي
Oh Allah, I seek protection in you from the evil of my hearing, from the evil of my sight, from the evil of my tongue, from the evil of my heart, and from the evil of myself.
Allahumma innee a3uzubika min sharri sam3ee, wa min sharri baSaree, wa min sharri lisaanee, wa min sharri qalbee, wa min sharri minnee.
Dua for forgivenness
اللهمّ إنّي ظلمت نفسي ظلماً كثيراً، ولا يغفر الذّنوب إلا أنت فاغفر لي مغفرة من عندك، وارحمني إنّك أنت الغفور الرّحيم
O Allah, I have been very unjust to myself and no one grants pardon against sin but You, therefore forgive me with Your forgiveness and have mercy on me. Surely, You are the forgiver, the Merciful.
Allahumma Innee Dhalamtu nafsee Dhulman Kaseeran, Wa la yagfiru alZunuba illaa anta, fa igfirlee magfiratan min 3ndik, Wa Arhimnee, Innaka ant algafuur arraheem.
Dua to dispel the gloom of depression
اللهم اخرجني من الظلمات إلى النور
Oh Allah take me out of darkness and into the light.
Allahumma Akhrijnee min aldulumaat ilaa alnur.
Dua for optimism in times of adversity
اللهم إليك أشكو ضعف قوتي وقلة حيلتي وهواني على الناس يا أرحم الراحمين أنت ربُّ المستضعفين وانت ربّي
To You, my Lord, I complain of my weakness, lack of support and the humiliation I am made to receive. Most Compassionate and Merciful! You are the Lord of the weak, and you are my Lord.
Allahuma ilayka ashku da’fa quwwati wa qillata heelatee wa hawanee 3ala an-naas ya arhamur rahimeen annta Rabbul mustad’afeen wa anta rabbi.
Dua for courage
اللهم امنحني القوة لأقاوم نفسي، والشجاعة لأواجه ضعفي، واليقين لأتقبل قدري، والرضا ليرتاح عقلي، والفهم ليطمئن قلبي
Oh Allah! Grant me the strength to oppose myself, the courage to face my weakness, the conviction to accept my faith, the satisfaction of to relax my mind, and the understanding to reassure my heart.
Allahumma imnaHnee alQuwwah li aQwaami nafseee, wa ash-Shujaa3ah li uwaajih da3fee, wa alYaqeeni li ataQabbal qadree, wa ar-riDaa li yartaah 3aQalee, wa alfahm li yaTmainna Qalbee.
Dua for when one’s Imaan feels low
اللهم املأ قلبي بحبكOh Allah fill my heart with your love.Allahumma imla’ qalbee bihubbik.
Dua for when one feels doubtful
اللهم إن كان هذا الأمر خيرا لي فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ
Oh Allah, if my intended action is best for me, make it destined and easy for me, and grant me Your Blessings in it.

Dua for gratitude
اللهم إن شكرك نعمة، تستحق الشكر، فعلّمني كيف أشكرك ، الحمد لله كما ينبغى لجلال وجهك وعظيم سلطانكOh Allah thanking you is a blessing, you deserve all thankfulness. All praise is due to Allah the way He should his magnificence deserves to be praised.Allahumma, inna shukruka ni3mah. TastaHiq ash-Shukr, fa 3allimanee kayfa ashkuruk. AlHamdulillah kamaa yambaGee li jalaal wajhik wa aZHeemi sulTaanik.
Dua for happiness
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ، وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ، وَفُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ، وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ
O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the decline of Your blessings, the passing of safety, the sudden onset of Your punishment and from all that displeases you.
Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min zawali ni’matika, wa tahawwuli ‘afiyatika, wa fuja’ati niqmatika, wa jami’i sakhatika.
Dua to remove guilt from the heart
يارب امسح على صدري برحمتك
Oh Lord, wipe my chest clean with your mercy.
Ya Rabb, Imsah Sadree biraHmatik.
Dua to dispel hatred
اللهم لا تجعل في قلبي كراهية لأحد
Oh Allah, don’t let the hate of anyone reside in my heart.
Allahumma laa taj3al fee qalbee karaahiyyah li aHad.
Dua for guidance
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ
Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.
Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana baAAda ith hadaytana wahab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka anta alwahhab.
Dua to ask for paradise
أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله ، نستغفِرُ الله ، نسألُك الجنةَ ونعوذُ بك من النار
I testify that there is nothing worthy of worship other than Allah and we seek the forgiveness of Allah. We ask You for Paradise and take refuge in You from the Fire.
Ashadu alla ilaha illallah, nastaghfirullah, nas’aluk’l-jannata wa na`audhu bika min an-nar.
J’atteste qu’il n’y a d’autre divinité qu’Allah et nous implorons la miséricorde d’Allah. Nous Te demandons de nous accorder le Paradis et nous cherchons refuge auprès de Toi contre le Feu.
Dua for repentance
لا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
There is no deity but You. Glory be to You! Verily, I have been among the wrongdoers.
La illaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zaalimeen.
For protection from difficulty
ا للَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْهَمِّ وَالْحُزْنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِO Allah, I take refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being overpowered by men.Allahumma innee a3uzubika min alham wa alhuzn wa al3ajz wa alkusl wa albukhl wa aljubn wa galbah aldayn wa Galbah alrijaal.
Dua when one feels lonely
اللهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أرجُو، فَلا تَكِلْنِي إلى نَفْسي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ، وأصْلِحْ لي شَأني كُلَّهُ، لا إله إلا أنْتَ
O Allah, it is Your mercy that I hope for, so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for a blink of an eye, and rectify for me all of my affairs. None has the right to be worshiped except You.
Allahumma Rahmataka Arjuu. Falaa takilnee ilaa nafsee Tarfata ‘Ayn. Wa AsliH lee Sha’nee kullahu, laa ilaah illa ant.
Dua for confidence
رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي
Oh lord, expand my chest, ease my affair, and untie the knot in my tongue and perfect my expression.
Rabbi IshraHlee Sadree, wa yassirlee amree, waHlul Uqdatan min lisaanee, yafqahuu qawlee.
Dua for Allah’s love
،اللهم إني أسألك حبك، وحب من يحبك، والعمل الذي يبلغني حبك
اللهم اجعل حبك أحب إليّ من نفسي، وأهلي، ومن الماء البارد
O Allah! I ask You [to grant me] Your Love, the love of those who love You, and deeds which will cause me to earn Your Love. O Allah! Make Your Love dearer to me than [the love of] myself, my family and the cold water [winter].- At-Tirmidhi.
Allahumma inni as’aluka Hubbaka, wa Hubba man yuHibbuka, wal-‘amalalladhi yuballighuni Hubbaka. Allahumm-aj’al Hubbaka ahabba ilayya min nafsi, wa ahli, wa minal-ma’il-baridi.
Dua for the Hereafter
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
O Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan, wa fil-akhirati hasanatan, wa qina ‘adhab-annar.
Donne-nous une belle part dans ce monde et une belle part dans l’au-delà, et préserve-nous du châtiment du feu.
Dua for knowledge
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا, وَ رِزْقًا طَيَّبًا, وَ عَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّل
O Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.
Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘Ilman naafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan.
Dua for a clean slate
يارب امسح على صدري برحمتك
O Allah, I ask you for knowledge that is of benefit, a good provision and deeds that will be accepted.

Dua to unlock your potential
اللهم اجعلني أرى المواهب و نقاط قوت الذين وضعته في نفسي
Oh Allah, make me see the talents and strengths you have put inside of me.
Allahumma ij3alnee araa almawaahib wa nuQaaT quwwat allazeena wada3tahu fee nafsee.
Dua for last 10 days of Ramadan
The last 10 days of Ramadan come with endless blessings and give us the opportunity to seek salvation before the month ends. Among the last ten nights falls Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Decree or Night of Power), and is one of the most sacred nights in the Islamic calendar. Allah says in the Qur’an, “The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months” (Qur’an, 97:3).
This duashould be recited throughout the last 10 nights of Ramadan in hopes of it being heard on Laylatul Qadr.
الْلَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّيO Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, (Generous) You love to pardon, so pardon me.Allahumma innaka Afuwwun (Karimun) tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee
During these blessed nights, it is the best time to focus on dua, with a heavy emphasis on the dua for Laylatul Qadr. The Prophet (peace be upon him) emphasized its significance, stating, “Whoever prays on Laylatul Qadr out of faith and sincerity shall have all their past sins forgiven” (Hadith, Bukhari and Muslim).
